Event Production

Nonprofit development plans often include recurring events that serve not only as major fundraising tools but also as opportunities for publicity, donor engagement, community involvement, and to foster a sense of belonging among supporters. In 2024, the Homeless Prenatal Program’s (HPP) annual Spring gala was a 35th-anniversary circus-themed celebration honoring the agency’s mission, the “Greatest Dream in the World.”

Our House is unique because it is the ideal venue for fundraising and for experimenting with events. Held onsite at HPP’s four-story building, the venue’s cost savings could be redirected to enhancing the agency's open-house experience.

Below you can view the event recap video for HPP’s 2024 Our House, Wonderstruck: Under the Big Top.

As head of event marketing and the creator of all visuals and decor, I immersed myself in the theme for each Our House event (while staying within budget). Creating an engaging event that integrated the story of an impactful organization always came together magnificently because it was held where the work was happening, alongside the staff closest to the impact.

The spirit of HPP was on full display at this final Our House I helped produce. When I heard a guest say, “It really does feel like a tent!” I knew my work there was done.

During my time at HPP, Our House welcomed nearly 400 guests and raised roughly $200,000 to $300,000 per year.
